The "C" Word

At this point in modern world everyone has been touched or affected by someone with Cancer.

Yup. The dreaded “C” word.

What I was never expecting was to hear that word associated with myself.

I’ve always been healthy. I barely drink, I don’t smoke, I do a juice cleanse every month, I eat organic, I use natural toothpaste and deodorant, I use non-toxic beauty products, and I live the FASTer Way to Fat Loss® lifestyle everyday.

And yet, I’ve recently been diagnosed with cancer in my right breast and a benign fibrous tissue in the left. This was first discovered during a routine mammogram. That was followed up with a biopsy and diagnostic imaging. My boobs have been poked, prodded and mashed to no end. My current diagnosis has a treatment plan in place. I will be going through chemotherapy, a double mastectomy and reconstruction.

I'm sharing this with you because I value the relationships that I’ve made online. So many of you are cherished friends and because I share so much of my life with you, I wanted to share this too.

I intend to continue with as much of my normal life as I can. This includes coaching as a FWTFL coach for now.

I appreciate all your positive vibes, prayers and love as myself and my family go through this journey. I can’t wait to see what lessons I learn about myself. I believe much will be gained, like strength, grace, patience, and vulnerability all while going through something that I never expected. I have learned a statistic that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with some form of breast cancer. That’s a staggering statistic and I hope to join in the ranks of kick ass survivors.

I believe all the work I’ve done to create a healthy lifestyle is what will allow me to kick cancer’s ass and motivate you to keep going on your health journey too!

~ much love
